A lab colony of Nigerian strain X tropicalis, descendants from wild caught frogs bred by Kirschner Lab, established ~1994 by Grainger Lab at the University of Virginia, and later the source of strains held at NXR, NBRP and Yale University/Khokha Lab. This colony is purposefully outbred (including individuals from a number of Nigerian strains) to maintain robustness, good fertility rates and production of healthy, normal, embryos. |
